My Dream event – Arivu aachaara vyaktitva vikasana shibira at Linganayakanahally

Nirantara Foundation in association with By2coffee team organized “My Dream –Education through short films” event in the summer camp held at Linganayakanahally, Hoovina Hadagali taluk, Bellary District on 26^th of April 2014. This is consecutive fourth year ‘My Dream’ event .

My dream volunteers team reached the place by 12.45PM on Saturday. Mr Shivanand Sir, chief organizer welcomed the team. Team members relaxed in Tunga Bhadra River for 15-20 minutes after long journey of six hours. Made the quick initial arrangements by 1.45PM and was ready after a good lunch.

All the children were assembled in the hall by 2.10PM. Around 70 students and few parents were present on that day in the event. Since power problem was there, team started with conducting the quiz by making three teams from the group. Jagadeesha acted as quiz master and other two volunteers Shiva Kumar and Raghavendra helped with other activities of quiz. The quiz was of five rounds comprising questions from General knowledge, current affairs, history and specialty of locality. Akkamahadevi team (name of the team in quiz) won the first prize followed Sangolli Rayanna and Channaveeresha teams.

Event was witnessed by heavy thunder storm and rain. Once the quiz was over, team started with screening of the short films through laptop only, as the power was still giving trouble. Shiva Kumar has took care of interaction of with the students. Screening of movies started with the video of national anthem theme, followed by my dream and other videos prepared by By2Coffee team. Before screening the each video some questions were asked to students and after the completion of the video more discussion on the videos was done. Students watched all the videos with keen interest and participated in the discussions with more enthusiasm. After the movie screening, there was a small function was held to acknowledge the work of my dream team members from the organizers. Shiva Kumar, my dream team volunteer handed over the certificate for the event to organizer Mr.Shivanand, who helped the team throughout the program. Also my dream team thanked all the volunteers who helped throughout the program. The program concluded with distributing the books Rashtra Jagruthi and Naa Enaga Bayasuttene and chocolates to all the students. Attended volunteers missed rest of the team. It was a journey of joy, satisfaction and Bliss. Looking forward for the next year…
